Our Community: Easy Stay-Home Recipes
Hello dreamers! Previously on our instagram story, we asked if you guys wanted the next topic to be on tips for customising cakes in Singapore , easy stay home recipes or leftover cake ideas! Today we will be feeding the majority by sharing our Zee & Elle Caramel Drizzle together with a 3-ingredient Banana Pancake which will compliment each other for your Sunday Morning breakfast during this circuit breaker :-)
- 3-Ingredient Banana pancakes:
This Banana pancake recipe only requires 3 main ingredients, making this recipe easy, straightforward and a healthier option!
- 1 large banana (over-ripped would produce a sweeter taste)
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tablespoons of milk (not necessary)
- Add ons: Butter to grease pan
Mash ripened bananas in a bowl. Add the large egg in and whisk all together. (Adding a splash of milk will make these pancakes moist and structured) And as easy as that, you now have a pancake batter that is ready to be heated up on a pan! Grease your pan with butter before adding the mixture! You may wish to cover your pan to make the batter cook faster. Top your pancake with more bananas and our salted caramel drizzle!
2. Salted Caramel Drizzle
As promised, we are sharing our very own Salted Caramel Drizzle that has been used in one of our best sellers in our cake shop: Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake.
Zee & Elle Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake
This Salted Caramel Drizzle Recipe makes 275ml of sauce.
- 150g Caster sugar
- ¼ teaspoon of flaked sea salt
- 120ml whipping cream
- 10g unsalted butter
Heat up the whipping cream in a pot over medium heat until it just reaches boiling point. Remove from heat and set aside. In another pot, pour the sugar in and add a little bit of water (just enough for sugar to be wet but not above the sugar!). Allow sugar to caramelize over medium heat, where it turns golden brown(160 °C), then remove from heat. Pour the whipping cream into the pot of caramelized sugar in parts, slowly. (Be careful during this part! The sugar may bubble up violently upwards due to heat! Hence do not pour the cream all at once! And always be careful.) Swirl your pot after each addition of cream. Let the bubbling settle before adding more cream. After all the cream has been added, add in the unsalted butter and sea salt and slowly stir them together.
