Cake Drips

These are the basic steps for cake drips:

  1. Pour the chocolate ganache over the top, at the edge of the cake.*
  2. After you have finished the cake drips all around the cake, spread the remaining ganache to cover the top of the cake.

*For Step 1, it is important to do it slowly, control is key to creating perfect looking drips!

To drip the cake, you can use a few different techniques. First up, you can use something that can be found in your homes - a spoon. For this method, our advice is to scoop up just enough ganache for the drips one at a time. As spoons means lesser control of the flow of chocolate ganache , less is more. Afterwards, you can use the back of your spoon to spread the remaining ganache over the top of the cake.

Alternatively, you can use a squeeze bottle/piping bag and spatula. We would recommend a squeeze bottle/piping bag as it would provide more control of the amount of chocolate ganache. Next, use a spatula to spread the remaining ganache for a smooth finish.

Additionally,  it is crucial to chill your cake before you drip the chocolate as that would set the chocolate and ensure it holds its drip shape. Lastly, our biggest tip is to practice! Your cake drips might not look ideal the first few times but practicing it a few rounds would definitely help to get the perfect looking drip cake of your dreams! Do share with us your very own customized drip cakes if you have tried them. We would love to see your creations!
